BA, Communicative Disorders

MS, Speech, Language, and Learning

I am a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist and learning specialist with a passion for education, research, and mental health. I earned my Master's degree in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University and Bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders from CSU Fullerton. I am licensed to practice in both Illinois and California. I have diverse experience working in public, therapeutic, and alternative schools, early intervention, and private clinics. I have also worked in research labs at Stanford University and Northwestern University providing professional consultation and research coordination for studies of early childhood language/literacy development and child/adolescent mental health. I am a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Counseling Special Interest Group.

I started Robin's Key Speech, Language, and Learning, PLLC to provide evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and young adults who fall through the cracks in school and have difficulty keeping up with their peers academically, socially, and emotionally. I specialize in working with clients with co-occurring language/ learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral challenges who all too often are mislabeled as "lazy" or "defiant." My approach is warm, collaborative, and relationship-based, and I firmly believe that "Kids do well if they can." ~Ross Greene

I have expertise in uncovering and supporting the communication and learning needs of clients who have emotional and behavioral challenges associated with ADHD, autism, anxiety disorders, mood/depressive disorders, and oppositional defiant disorder. I also specialize in working with clients with learning disabilities and articulation/phonological disorders. I am always learning and actively pursue professional development in the areas of neurodiversity-affirming therapy, social-emotional learning, emotional regulation, interoception, pathological demand avoidance (PDA), child and adolescent mental health, trauma-informed practices, giftedness/2e, reading and writing interventions, and speech and language interventions. My approach is always tailored to the strengths and needs of each individual client and is guided by their interests and values.

In my free time you can find me exploring new restaurants with friends, taking dance classes, watching plays or musicals at the theatre, watching Disney movies, or cuddling up with a good book and warm cup of tea.
